Every bearded man’s nightmare, itchy/itchy beards are a real problem for some men. If you decide to shave it all off (wrongly), Melrose Barbers has some advice on how to avoid it.

Why is your beard itchy?

First of all, you need to understand why your beard itches.

Generally, this is due to dry skin. Even if you can’t see it, the skin under your beard needs to be looked after in the same way as the skin on any other part of your body.

This dry skin is responsible for a number of problems, including irritation, dry hairs and redness.

So how can you avoid dry skin under your beard ?

Step 1: Clean your beard

We recommend washing your beard two or three times a week with beard shampoos. Non-beard-specific products are often too aggressive for your skin.

Step 2: Nourish your beard

Use oil or wax to nourish your beard, leaving it supple, soft and silky.

Last step: Brushing your beard

Brushing allows your skin to breathe, leaving your beard neat and soft, preventing discomfort and removing any dead skin you may have.

We recommend brushing your beard when it’s dry.
